Top 10: Technoclubs in Berlin 6 Minuten lesen

As soon as the word techno comes up in a conversation, it doesn't take long for someone to mention Berlin. Because everyone has known for a long time: When it gets dark in the federal capital, the bass booms. Techno fans flock to Friedrichshain, the Mecca of the electronic music scene . Berlin's rise to become a techno metropolis began with reunification. Back then, the techno pioneers took advantage of the many empty factory buildings and organized crazy underground parties that lasted late into the next day. Today, Berlin is still a place of pilgrimage for everyone who has made techno their way of life. Here we present the 10 best techno clubs in Berlin .

Berghain

What would the Berlin techno scene be without the Berghain with its legendary bouncer Sven Marquardt? The techno temple is located on the site of the old Ostbahnhof and is one of the best and most famous techno clubs in the world. The lines are long and security is tough. Even if you've been standing with your feet up for hours, you won't necessarily get in. However, if you are lucky and waved through, you can look forward to an unforgettable experience . With four dance stacks from Funktion One, the sound system knows how to convince even the most demanding ravers. Berghain residents include Marcel Dettmann and Ben Klock. You should have seen the inside of this super club at least once in your life. Psst, insider tip : Apparently, wearing black clothes increases your chances of getting into Berghain.

The Watergate is one of the best-known techno clubs in Berlin and is located directly on the banks of the Spree in Kreuzberg. If you go out onto the terrace between wild dance routines on the dance floor, you have a great view of the egg cooling house in the Stralauer Alle in Friedrichshain. Residents Ruede Hagelstein, Henrik Schwarz and Marco Resmann provide cool techno with a capital city feeling.

Another oldie of the Berlin techno scene is located near the Ostbahnhof in Friedrichshain. The Kater Blau stands in the tradition of its two predecessors, the Kater Holzig and the Bar 25. The club was opened in its current form in 2014. A highlight is the Agnes: the wooden boat bobbles in front of the Kater Blau in the Spree and serves as a Terrace. Kater Blau is open non-stop from Friday evening to Monday morning and offers plenty of crazy parties. Resident DJ is Dirty Doering from Berlin, who also runs the house label Katermukke. In addition to local talent, you can also hear real DJ greats like Claude VonStroke at Kater Blau.

Wild Renate

Renate, the wild one, invites you to a great party at her home. Location? Friedrichshain, right next to the Elsenbrücke. Music? Techno, house and everything in between. In this unique techno club in Berlin , everything still looks a bit like it used to. There's dancing on three floors - in front of a backdrop of scruffy wallpaper, armchairs that you last saw in your grandma's house before she threw them out, and kitschy odds and ends. If it gets too much for you, you can relax in the inner courtyard and gather new strength.

House, dubstep and techno Berlin are on the program in this club at Ostkreuz. About Blank used to be an illegal hangout with a feminist and leftist stance, but that has since changed. About the illegality, of course, not about the attitude. That's why guests with mohawks and Che Guevara shirts are also drawn here - the bouncers seem to like it. The About Blank is perfect for everyone who prefers to party in everyday clothes and doesn't show any affectation. In summer, the party moves to the open-air dance floor.

safe

The Tresor in Mitte is one of the oldest techno clubs in Berlin and a remnant of bygone times. Until 2015 it was still on Leipziger Strasse, before it had to move to a disused wing of the combined heat and power plant on Köpenicker Strasse. In the meantime, many music fans end up in the Tresor, who want to trace the roots of Berlin's techno movement here. Three floors offer enough space for dancing, while the basement with its massive concrete walls evokes memories of the old safe.

Golden gate

The Golden Gate on Schicklerstrasse is typically Berlin and impresses with its underground charm. It's different here than in the other clubs where Techno Berlin is on at the weekend. The Golden Gate is small, packed to capacity and open until the late afternoon. People like to stray here in search of a great after-hours. In addition, the queue is usually short and even the bouncers like to turn a blind eye.

Ritter butzke

Behind the facade of red brick one would hardly suspect a techno club in Berlin. But in the former factory building of the Butzke-Werke in the Ritterstraße, the mail goes on Friday and Saturday evening until late in the next morning. In 2007, Ritter Butzke opened its doors without official approval and quickly became one of the coolest underground clubs in the city. Three floors with techno and house invite you to dance, in the cozy inner courtyard you can chill. One advantage of this club is the relatively relaxed door policy .

KitKatClub

Wild nights await you at the KitKatClub on Köpenicker Straße. Admittedly, the KitKatClub is primarily a fetish club , but what sometimes happens in terms of techno is also approved of by hardened ravers. The best way to think of the KitKatClub is as a kind of sinful circus: You can appear here in costume and wear a mask - the main thing is that it's unusual and anything but boring. The "Kitty" has been around since 1994. The KitKatClub night, which takes place on Saturdays, is legendary and turns into Berlin's longest-running after-hours party on Sunday morning. The dress code is looser during the after-hours, so the whole thing is more reminiscent of a conventional techno club in Berlin.

House of Weekend

From the 15th floor of the House of Travel you have a wonderful view over Berlin at night. The House of Weekend is located in the immediate vicinity of Alexanderplatz and is bursting at the seams, especially in the summer months. The HOW is miles away from the dimly lit clubs in Friedrichshain in more ways than one. There are delicious cocktails and great music here, the seating is clean, and the large terrace is a wonderful place to chill. Those who occasionally like it more noble are in good hands here.
